Innovation prize "No. 1 Bio Composite of the Year 2009"

This year’s "Bio Composite of the Year" prize was awarded in October 2009 to our STAEDTLER WOPEX pencil for its utilisation of an innovative wood-plastic composite.

Design prize

Design Plus is one of the most important cross-industry prizes awarded for outstanding, particularly innovative design.

In 2009, products were distinguished whose manufacture included the utilisation of innovative materials or processing technology.

STAEDTLER WOPEX convinced the jury and was chosen as one of the winning products from a total 160 entries from 15 countries.

Our STAEDTLER WOPEX is made from PEFC-certified wood (= Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes) that comes from sustainably managed forests.

Thanks to the fact that the pencils are manufactured according to a special lead formula, they are unbelievably break-resistant. So you can write longer as the lead does not break as often.
The write-out length of a WOPEX pencil is significantly higher than comparable wood-cased pencils.
