At the end of the 1960s, STAEDTLER develops the Lumocolor permanent fibre-tip pen with waterproof ink for OHP applications.

These Lumocolor pens bear a strong resemblance to the present-day products: the permanent pens have a black barrel with white imprint, the non-permanent pens have a grey barrel with black imprint.

Both have caps and end plugs in the colour of the ink.
